Bolt Tumble
Bolt Tumble is a classic 9x9 Sudoku game with solver-checked grids and a Daily Challenge, played entirely on your device. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
Bolt Tumble does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.
Information we collect
None. Bolt Tumble never asks for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location or any other personal detail. The player name on the Profile screen is whatever you type in; it stays on your device and we never see it.
Data stored on your device
To make the app work, Bolt Tumble stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's local storage:
- Puzzle progress: solved grids, stars earned, best times and mistake counts.
- An unfinished grid, so a board you leave part-way through can be resumed.
- Your Bolts balance, lifetime Bolts earned, and the daily-gift claim date and streak.
- Which board skins you own and which one is equipped.
- The display name and avatar mark you picked on the Profile screen.
- Your settings (peer highlighting, timer, bold digits, high contrast, reduced motion).
- Which badges you have unlocked.
- A single flag noting that you have already seen the intro slides.
This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to Bolt Tumble or to any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it permanently.
Permissions
Bolt Tumble requests no runtime permissions. The release Android manifest declares no permissions at all, not even INTERNET, and the iOS build carries no usage-description keys: there is no camera, microphone, location, contacts, photo or notification feature in the app.
Network use
None. Bolt Tumble has no HTTP client, no WebSocket, no cloud database and no remote configuration. Puzzles are generated on the device from a seed instead of being downloaded, which is why the game works with no connection at all.
Third-party services
None are integrated: no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or social-login SDK. The only third-party code is open-source Flutter packages for local storage (Hive, shared_preferences), UI state (Riverpod) and layout, plus the Fredoka typeface (SIL Open Font License 1.1). None of them contact a network.
Children's privacy
Bolt Tumble is suitable for all ages. Because it collects nothing and transmits nothing, it does not collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR-K). There is no ad targeting, no profiling and no user-generated content shared with anyone.
Your rights
Everything lives on your device, so you are in control. Uninstalling the app removes all of its data. On Android you can also clear it at any time under Settings → Apps → Bolt Tumble → Storage → Clear data. There is no server-side copy for us to hold, export or delete.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
